{Semi} Wordless Wednesday: Loving the Hippie Life!

I'm linking up with Daphne (and her guest blogger, Laura) for this weeks {semi} Wordless Wednesday!

Photobucket

I have always considered myself to have an inner hippie (albeit a self-proclaimed "high maintenance hippie") and I have a lot of fascination with the hippie lifestyle. The 60's and 70's fascinate me! I love the hair, clothes, daisy flowers, platforms, communes, festivals, Volkswagen buses (my dream car. Not kidding) etc. I have often said that I'd love to live in a commune (but I promise I would wash my hair (sometimes) and shave (always). Oh, and....I would've totally rocked some dreads. For real.

Here are some of my favorite images from an era I would've totally loved to live in. Right on!

I went to UC Berkeley so I'm pretty intimate with real hippies. 40 years later, it ain't always so pretty. That being said, as long as you continue to embrace modern hygiene, there's nothing wrong with peace, love, flowers, and really cute fashion.

XO,

Julia
